Our Story
$55 Rock Chip Repair – StoneGuard LLC
More than fifteen years ago, our owner Alan stepped into the auto glass industry working for the large national company called Technaglass (Later purchased by Safelite). Like many technicians starting out, he was eager to learn the trade, take pride in skilled work, and help drivers stay safe on the road.
Over the years, Alan gained deep experience repairing windshields. But while learning the technical side of the industry, he also saw something that stayed with him.
Too often, the focus wasn’t on helping the customer — it was on selling the most expensive solution.
Corporate quotas, upselling, and replacement-driven sales became the standard. Repairs that could have saved customers hundreds of dollars were often overlooked in favor of full windshield replacements. In many cases, people simply trusted what they were told.
What affected Alan most was watching customers—especially women—be treated unfairly, rushed through decisions, or pressured into services they didn’t fully understand.
It didn’t feel right.
Alan believed customers deserved honest answers, fair prices, and respect — not pressure, confusion, or inflated costs.
So, he started doing something different.
On evenings and weekends, he began repairing rock chips on the side for friends, neighbors, and local drivers. No sales scripts. No quotas. Just honest work done the right way.
If a windshield could be repaired, he repaired it.
If a replacement was truly needed, he said so.
And if someone had questions, he took the time to explain the options so they could make the decision themselves.
Word spread quickly.
People appreciated the transparency. They appreciated being treated with respect. And most of all, they appreciated a technician who cared more about doing the right thing than making the biggest sale.
What started as a small side effort built on honesty and fairness slowly grew into something bigger.
Today, that same philosophy is the foundation of $55 Rock Chip Repair – StoneGuard LLC.
We built this company on a simple belief:
Auto glass repair should be honest, fair, and accessible for everyone.
We believe customers deserve:

That’s why our name reflects our mission.
